Malaysian Council for Child Welfare– www.caringmalaysia.net
The health and happines of a nation are refected in the real quality of life that ordinary people lead.

The struggle for this quality of life, for peace and justice, for health and harmony, for respect and tolerance and for growth and success are rooted in the struggles of community groups.

History tells us it is these groups led by committed individuals who understand the “power of one” and the “power of many” that are the cutting edge for social transformation for a better world.

These groups – call them civil society, community groups, “Societies” or “Associations” or even that negative term “Non – Governmental Organisations (as opposite to Non – Peoples Organisations, I guess) – are the vanguard for change.

Malaysia has a magnificant tradition of such groups – local, national and global. They cover every area from human rights to humanitarian aid, from consumerism to environment, from children welfare to gender issues and a host of other issues including emerging issues such as transparency and integrity and interfaith dialogue.

This website is both a celebration of this dynamism of these people and groups, and also a resource for knowing them and about their work, their struggles and their achievements.

Do let us have updates and information about these and new groups who are part of the “caring” and sometimes “daring” society that Malaysia is fortunate to have.

Voice of the Children- www.voc.org.my

Our mission is to advocate for law and policy reform to ensure that the rights of every child in Malaysia are protected and no longer at risk of violation. We believe that the welfare and protection of every child in Malaysia can only be realized through the promotion of children’s rights and the continued implementation of the Convention of the Rights of the Child in Malaysia.

We work to raise public awareness on issues affecting children, including statelessness, child protection within the justice system and unregistered children via advocacy strategies such as, but not limited to, press releases, researched reports, children’s books, rights awareness events and collaborative partnerships.

We work to support the government to ensure the welfare and protection of all children in Malaysia by engaging in regular dialogues and promoting best practices in child protection.

The Baby Center – www.babycenter.com.my

At BabyCenter Malaysia, we’re dedicated to helping new, expecting and “actively trying” parents find the information, support and reassurance they need. We recognise that having a baby is a life-changing event. So we’re here to bring you high-quality, medically reviewed information, and a community of supportive, helpful parents who are going through the same things that you are.

We want to be your most trusted parenting resource – that’s why we offer practical advice from expert sources, such as obstetricians, paediatricians, doctors, midwives and lactation consultants, and fellow parents. We also want to be the place you come back to when you have questions and concerns or when you just want to let off steam.

BabyCenter’s overall mission is to help parents make the most of one of life’s greatest experiences by helping to calm their worries and save them time. We try to represent multiple points of view, knowing that no two pregnancies, no two births and no two children are alike. We believe that there are many different and reasonable ways to approach the same problem. And you can be assured that all our content is independent and free from the influence of sponsors or advertisers.

Our writers are health, pregnancy and parenting experts. Just as importantly, we are mums and dads living the subject first-hand, raising newborns, toddlers and older children. Besides this hands-on experience, we thoroughly research and fact check every article we publish on BabyCenter. We use a team of medical experts to ensure the quality and accuracy of the material we produce.

The BabyCenter site in Malaysia is growing quickly. Some of the information offered to you will be from our UK site. We will let you know when information is being brought to you from the UK. We plan to continually develop the Malaysian site and would love your feedback on what local content would be most useful to you. Please email us at feedback@babycenter.com.my.
