DNA Testing in Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur is a sultry place filled with skyscrapers, lush green parks, huge shopping malls and foodstall-lined streets overshadowed by banyan trees. There are many mosques and temples which smell of incense, there is an ancient culture here that is balanced with the contemporary modern world and all its excitements. If you want to connect with the locals then join them in shopping and eating, their favourite past times. You could literally spend all day browsing the malls and looking in the central market for locally made souvenirs and when you get tired find some culinary satisfaction in Chinatown or, if you prefer, Masjid India a mini India, inside Kuala Lumpur.
As it is so hot in KL you are better to explore on foot. You will not be disappointed, catch all the action and avoid the awful traffic jams.
It is all about the food here with mouth-watering mixes of Asian cuisine: you can start your day with popiah and congee at Imbi market then for lunch have some freshly made roti and spicy chicken curry at Belfield’s SS Spicy Food stall. Try some Asam Laksa on Madras Lane and finish your day at the Majestic Hotel for afternoon tea and perhaps supper at Jin Alor.
If you can get out to the KL Bird Park then do, it houses some 3000 birds, mostly Asian birds and is divided into four sections. Some even fly freely beneath an enormous canopy. The native hornbills are a curious looking bird with yellow orange shaped horns above their bill.
Make sure you get a city tour and gasp at the Golden Triangle and KLCC: it is home to a group of big shopping malls and fabulous places to eat and drink, especially Jln Alor, KL’s most well-known food street. KLCC stands for Kuala Lumpur City Centre and is a huge development anchored by the Petronas Towers shimmering stainless steel towers which are the headquarters of the national Oil and Gas Company. Heading south of Bukit Bintang is the distinctly Chinese district of Pudu, where the city’s biggest wet market and wholesale clothing market is located. Here you will find squawking chickens and a shopping frenzy as people push through the crowds. There are a few theme parks in KL dotted around and water parks, the most convenient is Cosmo’s World actually INSIDE the Berjaya Times Square Shopping centre which gives you an idea just how big these shopping malls are!
